What to expect along the route

It is not a simple connection between three villages: it is one of the most loved routes in Eastern Liguria, created from the old railway line abandoned after war damage and reopened as a cycle/pedestrian path.

We start from Framura, between the colorful houses and the small port, and the character of the route is immediately clear: smooth surface, almost zero slope, and a succession of illuminated tunnels that alternate with open-air sections, suspended between the rock and the sea.

Every exit from the tunnels is a surprise: coves that can be glimpsed from above, sheer cliffs, the blue of the Ligurian Sea that changes shades with the daylight. Some sections allow you to go down to small beaches, perfect for a stop or a swim out of season.

Once past Bonassola, with its seaside promenade and the characteristic village gathered around the square, the route continues towards Levanto, gateway to the Cinque Terre. Here the route opens onto one of the most photographed views of the coast, before descending towards the center of the town.

It is a route that lends itself to being experienced calmly: on foot, by bike or by car e-bike, with strollers or prams in the main sections, stopping as much as you want without ever losing sight of the sea.
