HIKING TRAIL – “Sestri Panorama Trail”

It is one of those routes that start almost without realizing it, directly from the village, and in a few minutes take you out of the rhythm of the city. You climb slowly, among maritime pines and Mediterranean scrub, following a path that continually changes but always remains legible.

The first sight comes soon, almost suddenly. The Baia del Silenzio opens up beneath you, with that light that makes it immediately recognisable, even without the need for explanations. It's one of those moments where you stop without thinking too much.

Continuing, the path enters and exits the woods, crosses shadier stretches and passes by dry stone walls and old terraces that tell of a way of experiencing this area that is very different from today. There is no specific point that is more striking than the others, it is the whole that works.

Along the route there are several points where you can stop, even just to look or take a break. They are natural stops, without the need for structures or directions, perfect for slowing down for a moment and enjoying what is around.

Once you arrive at the Punta Manara Tower, the panorama opens up completely. The sea is everywhere, the gaze flows along the coast and, on clear days, reaches as far as Portofino and the Cinque Terre. It is one of the strongest points of the route, but also one of the easiest to appreciate.

The descent closes the ring without complications. You can return towards Sestri or go down towards Riva Trigoso, choosing shorter or longer variants depending on how you feel.

It is an itinerary that does not need to be explained too much. It works because it's direct, accessible and always nice to ride.
